Mechanical Fitter

To undertake the initial strip down assembly and the fitting requirements of the mechanical assemblies to the relevant manufacturing standards in accordance with the drawing and associated documentation requirements. In addition to carry out any other duties required by the business as directed by the business as directed by the manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities

Ensure the Company Health and Safety Policy is reflected in all actions

To ensure correct completion of route cards operations/history sheet documentation in line with company procedures

Quality of work - physical and written documentation

To maintain clean, safe working areas and practices

To be pro-active and to actively seek ways to continually improve processes

To have a positive and flexible attitude within the team

To perform duties as required by the business, and inline with employees skills matrix which also includes paint, polycoat, flow solder and all other processes used within the business for the manufacture of the product

To work to route card disciplines, process and procedures

Desired Knowledge & Experience

Good all-round Mechanical fitting skills and experience

To be conversant in reading and application of Mechanical Drawing requirements

To be skilled and conversant in the use of hand and conventional machine tools

To be knowledgeable in the health and safety requirements of a shop floor environment

Technical Skills and Competences

Effective problem solving

Ability to interperet drawings and specifications

To be able to diagnose a mechanical fault

Experience of production work in and engineering team environment

Ability to work on their own initiative

Educational Requirements

Approved time served craft or technical Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ qualification

Competitive Salary: £27,000-£30,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Holiday: 21 days plus bank holidays increasing with length of service. (Buy up to a maximum of one full week)
