Atec Partners with Local School

On Wednesday 23rd November a local High School visited Atec onsite for the commencement of the 2022/2023 REACH Programme.

 

The programme aims to show local students that there are lots of opportunities in their local area, and also to help teach them vital employability and general skills to help then when they join the workforce. 

 

Three of Atec's employees are mentoring four students each from Walkden High School, where they wil sit down with the students and guide them through the programme.

 

On their first visit to Atec the students had a tour of the building including the shop floor, met their mentors and had the opportunity to ask questions and express the types of careers they were interested in so we are able to tailor the sessions, and finally some great engineering themed activities.

 

Overall both the students and the mentor had a great time on the day, and we are looking forward to visiting Walkden School next time for their first one to one sessions.
